In Passing

This ongoing series captures layered arrangements of color, form, texture and decay created unintentionally over time by countless anonymous hands.

What makes these scenes compelling is their impermanence. A fresh coat of paint, bad weather, a new sign, or the passage of time can erase a composition entirely. The photographs preserve moments that may never exist in the same form again.

I’m a multidisciplinary designer and photographer based in Maryland.

When started this photo series in 2019, I was taken by the way the world unintentionally behaved like a designer, producing layered compositions of color, form, pattern, and texture. I wanted to use my camera to extract these moments, and the more photos I took, the more I noticed.

These compositions are everywhere, and I hope this series helps you notice them too.
